BANANA BREAD CONTEST - AUGUST 15TH - 10AM (Office Building)

Show off your baking skills in the Best Banana Bread Contest! From classic recipes to creative twists, bakers will compete to impress judges and win prizes. Bring your best loaf and let the sweet aroma fill the air! 

SOURDOUGH LOAF CONTEST - AUGUST 16TH - 10am (Office Building)

Join us for the much-anticipated Best Sourdough Loaf Contest, where bakers will showcase their mastery in creating this beloved artisanal bread. We will have two categories! 

• Plain Sourdough: Celebrate the classic simplicity of sourdough with loaves that highlight the traditional tangy flavor and perfect texture. 

• Flavored Sourdough: Add a creative twist with infused flavors, such as herbs, spices, cheeses, or fruits, that elevate sourdough to new culinary heights. 

Whether you're a seasoned baker or an enthusiastic amateur, this contest invites you to share your passion for sourdough and test your skills against fellow bread artisans. Prizes will be awarded in both categories, so bring your best loaf and prepare to wow the judges! 

lego contest - august 16th - 11:30AM (Entertainment shelter)

Calling all Lego enthusiasts! The Lego Contest welcomes participants of all ages to showcase their creativity and engineering prowess. Whether your creation is stationary or includes moving parts, this contest is the perfect opportunity to display your imagination and building skills. Bring your completed items to the Entertainment Shelter, where judging will begin promptly at 11:30am. Let your Lego masterpiece shine! 

UPCYCLED ITEM CONTEST - AUGUST 17TH - 10AM (ARTS AREA)

This is your moment to showcase your creativity by transforming everyday objects into extraordinary works of art, proving that sustainability and innovation can go hand in hand. Any completed item is welcome. Prizes will be awarded!

KIDS COLORING CONTEST 2025

All entries must be received at the Fair Office by Noon, Friday August 15th, 2025. Three Age Groups: Under 4 years; 5-9 years; 10-15 years; Only ONE entry per person. Winners will be announced on Saturday, August 16th and posted by the Fair Office and contacted by the number listed on the color sheet.

If you would like to pick up your child's coloring sheet, please come to the fair office before Noon on Sunday August 17th, 2025.

TALENT SHOW CONTEST

The show is limited to the first 25 entries. This includes all the age categories so get your entry form in early. Entries received after the show is full will be put on the waiting list. Specific contest rules and information can be found at www.houstoncountyfair.com under the Contests tab. 

LITTLE MISS/MR - HOUSTON COUNTY FAIR

Pre-registration for entries into the Miss/Mr are due by August 1st, 2025. Participants are to check in at 6:00pm in the Entertainment Shelter on Wednesday, August 13th. The contest occurs during the Talent Show right before the Queen Coronation. Winners are chosen by drawing - with names being pulled out of a jar. The contest is open to children entering 1st grade in the 2025-2026 school year that reside within Houston County. Selected winners are welcome to join parades and be present at fair events with parent or guardian, but not required.
